New buildings

Newbuilding,quickly became a focus for Søby Værft A/S in the shipyards early years. In 1949 the shipyard signed its first newbuilding contract on the construction of a fishing vessel. In the years to come there has been many new buildings from Søby Værft A/S. In the beginning the newbuildings was only wood constructed vessels. In 1958, Søby Værft A/S extented a steel fishing vessel, this project became the beginning of many new buildings in the Steel department from Søby Værft A/S.

As one of the few shipyards in Denmark, Søby Værft A/S features a whole unit for newbuild vessels, and we are widely renowned for our flawless and cost-effective on-time deliveries.

Being an experienced shipbuilder, Søby Værft A/S has recently increased its capacity to construct a broader range of vessel types.
Whether traditional steel ship or aluminum range, Søby Værft A/S can build up to 140 m in length, and easily facilitates a draught of up to 6 m.
Our experienced team of welders and fabricators construct all vessels to meet major classification standards. Any new built vessel sailing out of Søby Værft A/S will come with complete certification.

Navy Ships:

Søby Værft A/S has delivered new buildings to The Danish Navy, the latest was MHV 912, delivered in 2011.

With this navy vessel, we have built 30 ships to the Danish Navy - all on time and without remarks.

Ferries:

In 1962, Søby Værft A/S delivered the first new built ferry "MF Omø". The route was Stigsnæs-Omø, today the shipyard has delivered numerus new build ferries.

The latest new built ferry was delivered on the 3rd of July 2019. The ferry called "Ellen", was a large project with focus towards a green future and preventing of pollution, as she was the first electric driven ferry.
